Established 1725. The original structure was built using random field stones found in the area.
The Pottstown Roller Mills, Inc. is the oldest mill and manufacturing company in Pottstown as well as one of the oldest grain mills in the state of Pennsylvania.
Provided grain to the continental army while they were stationed at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777 and 1778.
Eventually the mill no longer produced flour, but the continuation of grinding corn took place for several years.
The events of Hurricane Agnes in 1972 helped push the business to it’s current location, 625 Industrial Highway. In 1974, the mill was added to the national registrar of historical places.
Today, it is owned by Henry Saylor and Doug Saylor, a father-son duo. 2 more of the Saylor family also work at the store, making it a family owned and operated business.
